A Prehistoric Landscape

Imagine Jurassic Park. Instead of dinosaurs there are computer monitors, chassis, and other corded, wild, peripherals.  Instead of a large island, imagine a really, really large island--except everything takes place beween two average size rooms.  Instead of an entire cast of characters there is only one person--a woman--with whom many players converse via internal dialogue and virtual reality. Now, imagine.... Okay, okay, you can stop imagining. Now, remember the scene in Jurassic Park where Malcom (Jeff Golblum) talks about chaos theory? Despite the hubris of its instigators, the whole of Jurassic Park is out of control. And, despite attempts to quell new life, it will prevail. It is unpredictable (beyond the prediction that something will happen). Something will change. In the midst of my own chaos I am compelled to trust the larger design of the universe, the one that extends far beyond these few nondescript walls--and way beyond the shields of my imagination. It is obvious now that if nothing changes, things won't stay the same--they'll get worse. Since they've already gotten worse, perhaps it's time they get better. The BlogClogged landscape is the before picture. The BlogClogged journey will lead to the after. Here's to the after. Salut.

Day two of the BlogClogged Plunge. It's nearly 5 pm and I have yet to create a solid plan for the day. Oop, I just got an image in mind that explains how I feel right now.... You know how when you are in a natural body of water (such as a lake, river or ocean) and you stir up the fine silt from the bottom? If you wait a few minutes the fine particles will eventually float back to the bottom and resettle. You know they won't be exactly like they were before you stirred them up, but they give the appearance that they are nearly the same.

Okay, drop that analogy...wait...pick it up again. At least, pick it up long enough for me to finish my thought: I'm still waiting for the silt to re-settle.

Actually, I'm feeling a bit puny today. I think the MSG-laced turkey helper stuff I ate yesterday is taking its toll on me. I won't be eating that again any time soon! But, really, I'm feeling icky. I still need to check out the symptoms of MSG allergies. Now I'm going to have to look up the symptoms of avian flu, too.

Okay, so my findings from my investigation into MSG allergies suggest that even if I did have some allergic reaction to the stuff, it should either have worn off or killed me by now. So, I guess I'll just move on.

While I was looking I found a very cool interactive anatomy educational tool at the University of Illinois Medical Center.

I've decided I'm not going to fret about the avian flu notion. It's likely my body is unhappy with eating ground-up turkey parts, more than anything else. (Wow, patting myself on the back, what a reasonable, non-hypochondrical perspective!)
